One of our best traders was down near 18k and my partner slacked:
(trader name deleted) may be on tilt.
I checked in on this trader with a chat to see how he was and if he was on tilt. He wasn’t happy, but he analyzed he was mostly just early in a trade. He was waiting for a bounce in SPY and reversal in UVXY. All the time hawking oil as a tell.
Be bounced into the close. As I write he finished the day up over 5 figures.
There are four points to be made here about the losing trader and winning trader:
- The losing trader basks in his closing PnL.
- The winning trader studies why he was early.
- The winning trader studies his better trading.
- The winning trader is proud of his resilience.
Don’t call it a comeback.
