{"id":9087,"date":"2011-01-04T14:13:17","date_gmt":"2011-01-04T19:13:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/?p=9087"},"modified":"2021-05-06T15:02:30","modified_gmt":"2021-05-06T19:02:30","slug":"goals-for-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/goals-for-2011","title":{"rendered":"Goals for 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend we asked our traders to craft a list of goals for 2011. \u00a0This is an exercise every serious trader (person?)\u00a0should complete. \u00a0When you create a picture for where you want to be by the end of the year it helps organize all that needs to be done to get there. \u00a0Create process and results goals.<\/p>\n<p>Here is an example of a nice job of goal setting from one of our very new traders:<\/p>\n<p>2011 GOALS<\/p>\n<p>P&amp;L Goals<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>End the month of January gross and net positive, and meet all criteria for a junior trader<\/li>\n<li>Be net positive all 12 months this year<\/li>\n<li>Improve my net P&amp;L and ticket average each month<\/li>\n<li>Have my first $1,000 day in the month of January<\/li>\n<li>Have a $5,000 day this year<\/li>\n<li>Have the top TA\/gross profit in my class at least 3 months this year<\/li>\n<li>Gross a minimum of $75K this year\n<ul>\n<li>Gross $25K for the first 6 months of the year<\/li>\n<li>Gross $50K for the last 6 months of the year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Goals<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gradually increase my risk per trade as my results improve and my size increases\n<ul>\n<li>Begin by risking $40-60 per trade, but get to the point where I am risking more in order to make more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Come up with more \u201cBig Ideas\u201d for trades to hold that can potentially make my week\/month\n<ul>\n<li>Be involved in SMB super chops and recognize when to use my max size<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Go through charts each night for 30-45 minutes so that I already know my technical setups before coming into the office<\/li>\n<li>Be more aggressive<\/li>\n<li>Get better at trading the open<\/li>\n<li>Be fully prepared to trade every single day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mike Bellafiore<\/p>\n<p>Author, <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/ee64bl\">One Good Trade<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend we asked our traders to craft a list of goals for 2011. \u00a0This is an exercise every serious trader (person?)\u00a0should complete. \u00a0When you create a picture for where you want to be by the end of the year it helps organize all that needs to be done to get there. \u00a0Create process and results goals.
