Trader\u2019s,<\/span><\/h2>\n

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. As always, I look forward to sharing several of my main ideas as we head into the new week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What a timely discussion on Thursday ahead of Friday’s CPI number, where I laid out several IF\/THEN scenarios, with emphasis on my main idea: a potential breakout in Ethereum. That, along with a key process I use each day before the market opens, were the\u00a0main takeaways from my most recent\u00a0Inside Access meeting<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All eyes now turn to the upcoming FED meeting this week!<\/span><\/p>\n

Ethereum (ETHA)<\/strong>: Following Thursday’s discussion, I stuck to my plan and went long ETHA below 19, then through 19, for the intraday breakout. I closed my stock position into the parabolic intraday upmove. As I laid out in my meeting, I am a bit more apprehensive right now about holding swings due to current market structure and conditions. That said, it was an explosive breakout at the time, so I used some of the cushion from my stock breakout long to maintain small long exposure with options for the swing. Using options meant I knew my absolute risk, and I\u2019m only allocating a portion of the gains from the stock position I had on Friday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The close and extended-hours action was far from favorable, and a potential false breakout looks likely. For any risk or size to be placed back into this trade, I’d need to see ETHA reclaim the multi-day VWAP from Friday, so 19.40s on Monday to start, and display notable relative strength. If that doesn\u2019t happen, I\u2019ll move on from it. If we get weakness post-FED and ETHA \/ IBIT are below support and displaying notable weakness rel. to the market, I’d certainly be inclined to look for intraday short opportunities there.<\/span><\/p>\n

QQQ\/ XLK Coiling<\/strong>: There\u2019s nothing to do right now, and I won’t do anything other than intraday scalps until the FED. QQQs \/ XLK are extremely coiled right now, so post-FED, if we get a directional move above or below short-term resistance or support that marks a potential breakout, I\u2019ll be involved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

AMD on Watch<\/strong>: AMD is on watch given its reclaim and hold above its 50-day SMA. As I have mentioned several times in IA recently, breakouts aren’t performing well in the current environment. But if we get favorable follow-through post-Fed, I want to be armed with the names showing the most promising setups from an R:R perspective. AMD fits that bill for me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll add that, in an extremely similar fashion to AMD, is INTC<\/strong>. It\u2019s another name I will closely monitor for relative strength and potential continuation to the upside above last week\u2019s range.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

BWET:<\/strong> This forward-looking tanker shipping rates ETF is going absolutely vertical. I don’t think most people even knew this existed until the end of last week. I\u2019m certainly no pro in this space, but price action is price action, and this is hitting many of the marks of a textbook mean-reversion opportunity. Given the spread, liquidity, lack of options volume, macro factors, and headline risk, I won’t be putting on A+ size here. But I will look to be involved. Ideally, we get another gap higher and continuation\/blow-off to the upside. In that scenario, I would look for a lower high to short or a consolidation breakdown. I\u2019d only enter once I have a clear level to risk against and the tide, no pun intended, has turned. Alternatively, if this were to gap down significantly, I\u2019d look for intraday momentum short opportunities such as a failed push higher, a bouncy-ball breakdown, or ORB\u2026 to name a few entry opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s it for now, folks, as it is another week that will be shaped by news –\u00a0 the upcoming FED decision and meeting on Wednesday, September 16.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
