What financial websites do you use to prepare for trading?<\/figure>\n

@MikeBellafiore<\/b><\/p>\n

I asked our newest training classes in Austin and NYC to share what websites they use and why to prepare for each trading session.\u00a0 Then I aggregated their answers, unedited, into this post.\u00a0 This gives you an excellent guide of websites to help you prepare for each trading session.\u00a0 Perhaps from this list you can make your own list and create a routine of visiting them before each trading session to make better trade\/investment decisions.<\/p>\n

1. Finviz<\/a><\/p>\n

This is where I head to first for most any stock I want news on. It
\nprovides links to the stories out on a stock on a multitude of other
\nwebsites (SeekingAlpha, Yahoo Finance, MarketWatch, CNBC, WSJ, Briefing,
\nReuters, Barrons, etc.)<\/p>\n

2. Nasdaq<\/a><\/p>\n

Has a section with rankers for stocks with most premarket activity, and
\nmost premarket volume. Helpful to start to get an idea for what has such
\ncompelling news that it\u2019s trading a lot before the open.<\/p>\n

3. TraderFeed<\/a><\/p>\n

A quick read over at Dr. S’s place does me a lot of good, and never
\ndisappoints. Whether its a market analysis idea he’s experimenting with,
\nor a well thought out article on trading psychology or peak
\nperformance, this is a great site to have in your morning list of
\nperusing.<\/p>\n

4. CNBC<\/a><\/p>\n

Headlines, articles, and premarket activity.<\/p>\n

5. Twitter<\/a><\/p>\n

Twitter is an invaluable resource for real-time news, as well as
\nfollowing fantastically smart people, with great reads on what is
\nhappening in the markets.<\/p>\n

6. Bloomberg<\/a><\/p>\n

One of the best all around resources for the news.\u00a0 Quality information here.<\/p>\n

7. Spencer\u2019s AM Ideas<\/a><\/p>\n

It’s great to have this resource. Hopefully by the time this meeting
\nrolls around, I’ve been able to find the stocks most In Play for the
\nday, but inevitably, the wisdom, brainpower, and experience of Steve
\ncomes through with a great stock In Play that I didn’t find, or give
\nenough weight to, myself.<\/p>\n

8. Business Insider<\/a><\/p>\n

I like to look at this site’s “10 things you need to know before the opening bell” story each day.<\/p>\n

9. CNBC\u2019s Early Movers<\/a><\/p>\n

I just keep the link to Peter Schacknow as my #1 bookmark and is a
\ngreat source for learning what’s moving in the morning for a variety of
\nreasons.<\/p>\n

10. Estimize<\/p>\n

….It’s a pretty good earnings
\ncalendar. You can use the tables easily to see wall street estimates, vs
\nactuals vs (sometimes) guidance.\u00a0
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

11. Barchart<\/a><\/p>\n

The best time to prepare for trading is the night before, this is why I
\ngo through all of the unusual volume decline\/advance stocks after close
\neach day. I also study the gap up\/down stocks after close in order to
\nrefine my pattern recognition skills because this is one of my top
\nsetups.<\/p>\n

12. Briefing
\n<\/a>Great tool during earnings season- easy to find guidance results. I
\nalways read the after-hour mover summary to prepare for the next
\nmorning.<\/p>\n

13. SeekingAlpha<\/a><\/p>\n

SA’s Wall Street Breakfast articles are my must read in the morning- it
\nis a summary of global events, morning movers, earnings reports.<\/p>\n

14. Stocktwits<\/a><\/p>\n

Great community of traders from which to learn. I pay attention to stocks with the biggest price\/volume gains. I use the mobile app for this site.<\/p>\n

15. The Fly On The Wall<\/a><\/p>\n

I read through the headlines here. They are very thorough. Often times
\nthey have headlines that I can’t find anywhere else.<\/p>\n

16. Market Watch<\/a><\/p>\n

For top news headlines. I also use this to dig deeper into a stock if Finviz doesn’t have the story.<\/p>\n

17. YahooFinance<\/a><\/p>\n

Easy to use site.\u00a0 Headlines sections with all of the news in one spot is particularly helpful.\u00a0 I like their new blogs.<\/p>\n

18. StreetInsider<\/p>\n

Pre and post market wrap up. \u00a0They also give good insight on what the larger funds are doing. \u00a0\u00a0
\n<\/a>19. Investor\u2019s Business Daily<\/a><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll read various articles on here for potential trade ideas. Great section for sectors\/stocks that are hot.<\/p>\n
