Save"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We teach our traders to follow the trend. \u00a0I certainly can fade stocks. \u00a0For three years this is how I more than paid the bills from 03-06. \u00a0And this fading period cemented my tape reading skills. \u00a0 So it&#8217;s not that I would never advocate fading as a strategy. \u00a0Just not now. \u00a0Not in this market. \u00a0Well save a few exceptions. \u00a0Let me offer one.<\/p>\n<p>As a trader there is nothing to get. \u00a0There is no secret sauce or magic pill. \u00a0And for three years fading was the way for me to stay in the game. \u00a0It was the path I needed to take to live to play another day. \u00a0How I survived to trade August of 07 and the Fall of 08. \u00a0But overall I prefer to follow the trend. \u00a0This is where I have made most of my money and suspect where I will continue to make most of my money.<\/p>\n<p>But I do fade even though I teach not to fight the trend, and even though I personally almost always follow the trend with my trading. \u00a0For me when I notice a stock in an intraday downtrend and the tape CLEARLY show me strength then I will get long. \u00a0And we had one of those times on the Open in AIG where the tape CLEARLY screamed,&#8221; Bella I am strong. \u00a0Get long!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>AIG opened and started a downtrend. \u00a0I played the downside momentum. \u00a0Yesterday AIG had been weak so this initial weakness was to be followed. \u00a0But then at 29 the bid held. \u00a0And then again at 29 the bid held. \u00a0And then again at 29 the bid held. \u00a0It was like someone jumped out of my computer screen, grabbed me by the shoulders, shook me and exclaimed, &#8220;Get long jackass!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So for me this is an exception. \u00a0If the tape CLEARLY shows strength and the stock is in a downtrend then I will get long. \u00a0I have a few others but let me emphasize&#8230;.a few. \u00a0I fade only under specific parameters. \u00a0I am mostly interested in finding strong stocks and getting long or weak stocks and getting short.<\/p>\n<p>Best of luck with your trading!<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2765\" title=\"AIG\" src=\"http:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/AIG.bmp\" alt=\"AIG\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We teach our traders to follow the trend. \u00a0I certainly can fade stocks. \u00a0For three years this is how I more than paid the bills from 03-06. \u00a0And this fading period cemented my tape reading skills. \u00a0 So it&#8217;s not that I would never advocate fading as a strategy. \u00a0Just not now. \u00a0Not in this market. \u00a0Well save a few &#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/dont-fight-the-trend-save\" class=\"more-link\">Read More<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":144,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[10],"tags":[162,161,18,396],"class_list":["post-2764","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-mike-bellafiore-bellas-blogs","tag-day-trading-blog","tag-fading","tag-smb-capital","tag-trend","no-post-thumbnail"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.1.1 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Don&#039;t Fight the Trend....
