{"id":1290,"date":"2009-07-01T16:28:09","date_gmt":"2009-07-01T20:28:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/?p=1290"},"modified":"2023-05-24T17:30:57","modified_gmt":"2023-05-24T21:30:57","slug":"range-play-on-the-open-osk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/range-play-on-the-open-osk","title":{"rendered":"Range Play on the Open: OSK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have watched two excellent Range Plays on the Open with Stocks in Play recently in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/trader-90-trader-365\">Video Review Sessions<\/a>. \u00a0One was in LVS. \u00a0One was in OSK today. \u00a0Let&#8217;s walk you through this trade set up so you can add it to your quiver.<\/p>\n<p>OSK gapped up on the open after receiving a huge new contract from the government. \u00a0That never hurts. \u00a0The question was would OSK trade higher or would it fail and sell off. \u00a0This is a simple trade. \u00a0 And one pattern you must learn to exploit with a Stock in Play.<\/p>\n<p>Again let me set the context for why I offer this set up.<\/p>\n<p>New Trader: Bella I don&#8217;t trade the open well.<\/p>\n<p>Bella: You are in the wrong set ups.<\/p>\n<p>New Trader: Which one should I be in?<\/p>\n<p>Bella: The ones we teach you.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not making money on the open then you are not in the right set ups. \u00a0It does not get any easier than trading on the open. \u00a0And this Range Play on the Open is one of our best.<\/p>\n<p>So what happened?\u00a0 Again remember this is not going to be rocket science. \u00a0 OSK could not trade above 18.80 after the first few minutes on the open. \u00a0OSK could not trade below 18.70. \u00a0Significant volume was done between these levels. \u00a0And then 18.70 dropped. \u00a0I hit the bids. \u00a0The stock traded in a clean downtrend to below 18.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing difficult about that trade. \u00a0You just must recognize the pattern. \u00a0And then pounce on this easy, profitable set up on the open.<\/p>\n<p>18.80 is a huge resistance level in OSK. \u00a0We will get long if OSK holds above 18.80 tomorrow. \u00a0We will short if OSK holds near and below 18.80 as well.<\/p>\n<p>Best of luck with your trading!
