Fade. Scalp. \u00a0Momo trade. \u00a0Swing trade. \u00a0Slow movers. \u00a0Stocks that sprint. \u00a0Moving averages. \u00a0No moving averages. \u00a0Charts. \u00a0Some charts. \u00a0Reading the Tape. \u00a0What the hell is the tape? \u00a0This trading thing can be all so individual.<\/p>\n<p>So first up is GMan Jr. showing a trade only GMan might have the skill to master. \u00a0It was a hard, nuanced, only for the big boys trade. \u00a0And it was Day 24ish for this new trader. \u00a0After the webinar I watched some tape with him and his trading partner and was shocked. \u00a0He actually had developed the in and out trading skill of GMan. \u00a0How did he do that? I am sensing he has been doing some serious tape review after the close. \u00a0It was like being in a time machine back to the brilliance of Dr. Momentum from<em> One Good Trade. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>And then came Big Ben (he is a pretty big guy and this from a guy 6&#8217;2&#8221; 215, &#8220;ding&#8221;, Dan Patrick). \u00a0 And Big Baby Ben showed us this trade in BGS.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a8Reported Earnings \u00a1Net sales increased 4.6% to $141.9 million for the quarter and 2.5% to $513.3 million for the year \u00a1Net income increased more than 100% for the quarter to $14.3 million and 85.6% for the year to $32.4 million \u00a1Diluted earnings per share increased 866.7% to $0.29 for the quarter and 52.3% to $0.67 for the year \u00a1Adjusted diluted earnings per share* increased 100% to $0.28 for the quarter and 47.5% to $0.90 for the year \u00a1 EBITDA* increased 28.7% to $32.8 million for the quarter and 16.2% to $119.7 million for the year \u00a1The Company expects to deliver 2011 EBITDA of $123.0 million to $126.0 million.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Big Baby Ben was loping through the day and spotted a Bullish Flag Pattern. \u00a0BGS could not trade above 17.40. \u00a0And then it did. \u00a0He got long and took off BGS near the close. \u00a0&#8220;<em>Easy, easy, Japanese<\/em>-ee!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I might point out to GMan Jr. that there are easier ways to start his trading career but not mandate he trades Big Baby Ben plays. \u00a0I might hope that Big Baby Ben develops the sharp in and out trading skills of GMan and GMan Jr. but am not gonna mandate that he does. \u00a0Same desk. \u00a0Same training. \u00a0Less than 5 weeks into their careers. \u00a0So different. \u00a0It&#8217;s all about finding the plays that make sense to you. \u00a0But along the way we can poke fun at both.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/bgs-level2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-10237\" title=\"bgs level\" src=\"http:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/bgs-level2-300x238.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"238\" srcset=\"\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/bgs-level2-300x238.png 300w, \/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/bgs-level2.png 897w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/bgs-finish1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-10238\" title=\"bgs finish\" src=\"http:\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/bgs-finish1-300x237.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"\/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/bgs-finish1-300x237.png 300w, \/\/www.smbtraining.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/bgs-finish1.png 912w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mike Bellafiore<\/p>\n<p>Author, O<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/One-Good-Trade-Competitive-Proprietary\/dp\/0470529407\/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0\">ne Good Trade <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s funny&#8230; we had a webinar yesterday and it demonstrated how many different ways there are to look at the markets.\u00a0We are intraday traders yet there are so many distinct ways to intraday trade. \u00a0Trade with the trend.
