Hello Mike,
I have been trading for about a year. I would like to improve my knowledge in trading but unfortunately do not have the money for vocational training. Would you recommend great authors or books on technical analysis?

In the past I have recommended two books on technical analysis from friends of SMB:
a) Adam Grimes, The Art and Science of Technical Analysis
b) Brian Shannon, Technical Analysis Using Multiple Time Frames
You might also consider:

d) The Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns, Tom Bulkowski
e) Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets, John Murphy

I stumbled across Adam Grimes book from a previous recommendation from one of Mike Bellafiore’s articles. The clarity that Grimes uses in explaining concepts(in my opinion) is almost peerless.
The Evolution of Technical Analysis – Andrew W. Lo and Jasmina Hasanhodzic, 2010
I would add:
Trend Following by Michael W. Covel
But saying that on the net you can find all info that you will always need and even much more.
